EE Game Day '24
Client: Nexus Studios, Havas Play for EE
Role: Lead Game Designer
2024
As the game designer for EE Game Day, I worked with Nexus Studios and Havas Play to create three fun mini-games—an endless runner, AR whack-a-mole, and a gamified TikTok filter. The event turned the UK into a big arcade for a day, with people playing the games on billboards, in stores, and online. With over 2,000 prizes up for grabs and a special activation on Brighton Pier, it was a great way to bring people together for a day of gaming across the country.
We brought the experience into Fortnite with a massive in-game treasure hunt on a custom map. I designed the mazes that players navigated while searching for hidden treasures. It was an awesome way to blend exploration and competition.
The Brighton Pier activation featured an AR game where players used a virtual hammer to bop seagulls. The game was cleverly integrated into the pier's architecture, making it feel like the entire building had been transformed into a giant augmented reality arcade. This immersive experience combined the seaside charm of Brighton Pier with cutting-edge technology, offering visitors a fun and interactive way to engage with the space while competing for prizes.
